Rings

Just as springs are used as energy storage devices, various rings can be used in a similar fashion.  Given their wide range of uses and flexibility, Peterson Spring boasts an unparalleled ability to fill the ring requirements of any client regardless of the industry.

Peterson Spring uses custom-designed, state-of-the-art machines and equipment to produce a wide variety of rings in an economic and environmentally responsible manner.  They are mass-produced allowing cost-conscious clients access to Peterson Spring’s entire product catalog.

Snap Rings

Snap rings – commonly referred to as “retaining rings” – provide shoulders to locate or retain parts on shafts or in cylinders.  Depending on the application, snap rings can be used externally or internally.

Peterson Spring specially designs equipment to produce snap rings with maximum efficiency in the most cost-effective and environmentally responsible manner.  Skilled operators produce millions of coiled rings each year on state of the art equipment.  Coiled rings boast an important cost advantage over stamped rings by eliminating blanked scrap and avoiding the need for cost-prohibitive tooling along with a hardening process.

Peterson Spring is capable of producing rings with inner diameters ranging from .062” to 72”.  Assembly, disassembly and identification are assisted by nearly limitless gap configurations.  A variety of notches or holes and ground surfaces at the ring gap can also be provided.

Transmission Rings

Manufactured in a similar manner to mass-produced snap and retaining rings, transmission rings are engineered specifically to meet the intense demands of powertrain systems.  Specially designed to withstand extreme wear and tear, Peterson Spring manufactures retaining and wave rings in a cost-conscious way, thereby ensuring that our customers are receiving the best available product at the most competitive price.
